Surge and Destroy Lore:

Two offspring from Mother Kryza were able to escape after the events of the expansion.  The dominant of the two rose to power while the vice Technorati declared himself to be the new Thorn, taking on the mantle of “Chief Engineer”. 

Unlike other broods, the dominant sister, now known as Crone Mother, did not expel her sister, but they existed together, stronger and able to build a new nest.  They know they are dependant on each other, but for now the bond of the sisters is stronger than their instinct to fight each other, although the Crone Sister seems to have an ever more prominent role in the new and thriving nest. 

The Technorati have a strong hold over this nest, and influence every aspect of how they survive, as present in the heavier armours, toxic weapons, and experimental “enhancements” the nest undergoes.
