This is not going to be your standard tournament, Each player will bring a valid 1100 points army list. You will team up with another player, hopefully in advance, I will have a force with me as a stand in should we need a spare.

 

Your armies need not be of the same alignment! Otherwise you follow the same rules for allied forces, not being able to cast beneficial spells on allied units ect.

 

Each team will have one hour on the chess clock, with two people moving the armies and rolling dice that should be more than enough time. Otherwise the game plays as normal, each team taking its turn for 6 turns with the possibility if a 7th turn.

 

There will be special prizes for new players and people who bring new players.

 

There will of course be the standard trophies and prizes for best army and best Mantic Army.

Additional info for the doubles event.

You will have the option at the start of the day for us to use random pairings, or to select the player you want to team up with.
It would be for the best if new players could team up with experienced players.

Prepare the table and scenario as usual, and split any required token deployment as evenly as possible between both players on each side.
You may deploy units anywhere within your side’s deployment zone.

Deploy units one at a time.
Example. John & Dan V’s Ian & Sam
John deploys one then Ian, then Dan, then Sam then back to John. If you have to place multiple units before your opponent this should be split as evenly as possible, each of you deploy one until the required number have been deployed.

During your sides turn one player should use the chess clock once it is running you can both be moving units, you can decide between you which unit moves, shoots or fights first in any given way as you would in a singles game. You can declare double or multiple charges with units from both lists.
Friendly spells and auras only affect your own 1100pts
Things like mind thirst will still only be able to draw inspiring from opposed units.


Army composition.
Your 1100pt army should be created using standard list-building rules. That means you can both have the same unique units and artefacts, remember this is a fun event and you may not end up partnered with the person you came with or may have a partner you don’t know. Try not to cheese the lists, the idea is to get new players interested in the game not to wipe the floor with the remnants of their ragged shattered spirits.

Scoring.
At the end of the game calculate points as if the game had been a singles match.
