Kings of War Event: Dead of Winter

Description

GENERAL INFO:

• Dates: January 20-21, 2024
• Location: The Fortress of Gaming, 18 Railroad Avenue, Albany NY 12205
• Cost: $55/player
• Cost includes entry and lunch (sandwiches) on both Saturday and Sunday
• Currently filled, accepting waitlist spots!

ARMY BUILDING GUIDELINES:

• Armies from the Latest Kings of War rulebooks, Clash of Kings, and the Mantic Companion may be used. The points level will be 2,150.
• NEW THIS YEAR: In honor of our third year, we are instituting the “Rule of Three”. Your army may contain only three of any unit entry, regardless of size or any unit upgrades. So, for example, you can have two hordes of a unit type, and one regiment, but not two hordes and two regiments.\

Battle Scoring: Black-Jack:

• Over the course of 5 rounds there will be up to a possible 21 points per game for a total of 105 potential battle points throughout the event. Battle points for each game will be determined as follows:
• 14 Win/ 10 Draw/ 7 Loss + Attrition Modifier + either Objective Modifier _or_ Score Modifier

RULES CLARIFICATION:

• If a unit carrying a loot token is subject to the “Frozen” special rule, its speed is reduced to 4.
• We will be using the withdraw rule during the event. 

 TERRAIN PLACEMENT RULES:

• Unlike last year, we plan on having enough terrain for twenty standard tables. Preset maps will be provided for each scenario.    

CHARITY RAFFLE:

• Similar to last year, we’ll be having a prize-laden raffle to support Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Over the past two years the GT has raised over $3,400 for JDRF. This is a testament to the generosity of the Kings of War Community, and George Vasilakos, the owner of the Fortress of Gaming. In short, you guys are awesome.
