Description
Bilbostock IX
October 24, 2026 – Kings of War
Three games will be played using a Swiss pairing system. The winner will be the player with the highest number of Tournament Points (TP) after the three games. In the event of a tie, Kill Points will be used as a tiebreaker. Player-vs-player challenges are permitted for the first round; these challenges must be communicated to and confirmed with the organizers by both players no later than October 10.
Missions will be played as described in the *Kings of War* Third Edition rulebook. Three scenarios will be played (one per round), selected from the 12 available in the *Kings of War* rulebook.
To ensure variety, the aim is to select one Loot scenario, one Objective scenario, one Control scenario, and one other type.
The chosen scenarios will be announced on the day of the tournament.
Each game has a time limit of 110 minutes—including deployment—allowing for 55 minutes per player. The use of a chess clock is mandatory. This time limit is fixed and non-negotiable.
For those without a physical clock, we recommend using the Dash28 chess clock (https://dash28.org/chess-clock/) or any other mobile phone app.
*Additionally, a master clock will be used to signal the end of the round. As soon as this clock marks the end of the round, any games still in progress must stop immediately, regardless of their current state. Tournament Points, Objective Points, and Kill Points will be awarded based on the game's status at that moment. 09:20 – 09:40

What to bring:
A good attitude!
Or not—just showing up is enough for us.
Dice
A friend
Wound tokens, a tape measure, and anything else relevant to your army
Seriously, come even if you only have the army assembled and nothing else.
If you have the Rulebook, please bring it, along with any relevant errata.
And if you know someone who wants to come, bring them along.
Chess clock or equivalent
Seriously, please come.
If you have cool, narrative-friendly terrain, bring it.
Someone who can be bothered to standardize the formatting of this document.
Standard objective markers—always handy to have.
Why aren't you coming? We have butter buns!
Of course, you also need to bring your army! All miniatures must adequately represent both the profile and the spirit of the game and adhere to the MMC; two visually identical units cannot represent different options. I mean, we’re super chill about this, but don't show up with crossbowmen and tell me they're Ogres with two-handed weapons. Or show up with Mad Max-style figures and tell me they're elegant Elves.
Lists
Final lists must be submitted via the Mantic Companion app before midnight on
October 10th; failure to do so will result in a severe penalty and a loss of sanity points. Tournament Code: TBD
The maximum number of points available is 1,990. The following additional parameters apply:
Allies are NOT permitted.
You MUST use the most up-to-date game rules (covering all aspects) published prior to October 10th—the list submission deadline. (No Command Dice).
If someone has a cooler backstory for their army than you do, you must concede the match if you are currently winning. (My lawyers insist I state that this rule is subject to review).
PAINTING
While having a painted army is not mandatory for tournament participation, we recognize that modeling is a vital part of wargaming. Therefore, we aim to encourage this aspect of the hobby through the following rules:
o Players may use any number of non-Mantic miniatures in their armies. There is no minimum requirement for Mantic miniatures.
o You must use wargaming miniatures that do not look out of place within your army.
o Your opponent must be able to instantly recognize what each unit represents. It is not necessary for every miniature in a unit to carry the exact appropriate weapons, but it is expected that—for example—a unit equipped with two-handed weapons features a significant number of troops actually wielding such large weapons.
Terrain:
o Forest: Height 9, Difficult Terrain.
o Buildings or Rocks: Height 9, Impassable.
o Walls and Hedges: Height 1, Obstacles.
o Hill: Height 3.
o Lakes: Height 0, Difficult Terrain.
o Farmland: Height 1, Difficult Terrain.
Game Rules:
o Command Dice are not used; I would rather end up dead, maggot-ridden, and defecated upon than use them. Furthermore, this tournament features a unique special mechanic:
AMA Single Combat: (for the love of God, someone actually use it this time) If, by any chance, the players find themselves in a situation...
