Description

It is the swords of the strong that steer the world. Clearest omens lose all meaning in the horror of battle as Lady Luck herself deals out her judgment on both the fair and the false. Who shall grab the reins of destiny, whose ranks will rattle and break?

Summer is the season of war, and Koitos of the Generals is here again!


The traditional Ropecon Kings of War -tournament will be held once again! The crown jewel of the Finnish Kings of War -scene is known for good spirits and laidback gaming, and of course this year we will strive to uphold that! One should not get too hung up on the word “tournament”, fun games and exciting events are far more important than victory! So even with lesser experience, an interested gamer should definitely check out Koitos of the Generals IV!

The tournament will be played on Sunday the 26th of July at Messukeskus in Helsinki. More precise location will be added once Ropecon staff starts handing out locations. On Saturday the 25th there will be demo games and tables for pick up games. Ropecon is the largest roleplaying convention in the Nordics with over 10 000 participants each year, so there's plenty to see and to do! There is an entry fee for Ropecon, but the tournament self doesn't cost extra.

The tournament will be played using the 4th edition rules and latest FAQs.

Awards will be handed out in the following categories:
Commander Supreme - the player who gathers the most tournament points
Wooden spoon - the player who gets the least tournament points (the typical award being a bag of sweets)
The Prettiest Bunch - the player who brings the most beautiful Regiment or Horde unit

Armies will be 1750pts.

The Dreamer - Hero (inf)

The dreamer walks untold worlds, sees sights beyond words to tell, being both the dragon and the knight in a swirling
maelstrom more vivid than reality. They walk on the field of battle, flickering from shape to shape until, invariably, they
wake.

Special rules: Fly, Individual, Surrealism, The Dream

Surrealism For the purposes of effects limited to certain Traits, the Dreamer is assumed
to have them all. This means any and all limited auras or Inspiring affect the
Dreamer, even including Inspire (self)!  Note that the Dreamer is NOT a commander,
so they cannot issue Command Orders, and may be targeted by them themself.

The Dream When the Dreamer is given a movement order, the player must first roll for the random
Speed of the Dreamer (roll each turn) and then choose one of the following dreams
that the Dreamer is dreaming, choosing a different dream each turn:

Nightmare The Dreamer gains Dread and Cloak of Death

Triumph The Dreamer gains Rallying and Radiance of Life

Devastation The Dreamer gains Blast (d6) and Crushing Strength (4)

Tempest  The Dreamer gains the spell Blizzard (4)

Waking The Dreamer momentarily realises they are dreaming and
becomes De 6+.

If the Dreamer becomes or is Engaged with another Dreamer
while either one is under The Waking, both will immediately wake
up and be Routed.
